Good Friday and Easter

A Sexta-feira Santa ocorre na sexta que antecede a Páscoa. Os cristãos não comemoram essa data em um dia fixo. Neste ano, ela será celebrada no dia 07 de abril. Esta data está sempre conectada à quaresma, um período de quarenta dias que simboliza reflexão e preparação para a Páscoa, que por sua vez significa "passagem".

A Semana Santa inicia com o Domingo de Ramos, seguido pela Quinta-feira Santa. Finalmente, temos a Sexta-feira Santa, que é o dia da crucificação de Jesus Cristo. Depois, o sábado de Aleluia, para então chegar a Páscoa.

A Páscoa é a celebração da ressureição de Jesus Cristo. Para muitos, é a festa de maior importância do calendário religioso.

No Brasil, a celebração dessas datas é marcada pela realização de missas e pela tradição de presentear alguém com ovos de chocolate, associada ao grande símbolo desse feriado: o Coelho da Páscoa.

Good Friday takes place on the Friday before Easter. Christians don’t celebrate this date in a fixed day. This year, it will be held on Abril 07^th. Good Friday is always connected to the Lent, a forty-day period that symbolizes reflection and preparation for Easter, which means "passage".

The Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, followed by the Maundy Thursday. Finally, we have the Good Friday, which is the day of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Thereafter, comes the Holy Saturday, just for Easter to arrive.

Easter is the celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, for many, it’s the most important celebration or feast of the religious calendar.

In Brazil, the celebration of these dates is marked by masses and the tradition of gifting someone with chocolate eggs, associated with the great symbol of this holiday: the Eater Bunny.
