4th of July

Julho começa de forma especial para os norte-americanos, pois no dia 4 é celebrada a Independência dos Estados Unidos! Nessa data em 1776, o Congresso Continental adotou a Declaração de Independência.
O processo para a independência foi permeado por conflitos e embates entre os territórios americanos e o Império Britânico, devido à forma como a metrópole tratava a colônia, com imposições sem o consentimento dos colonos e à falta de representação no Parlamento.
A Declaração de Independência foi redigida pelos Pais da Nação, principalmente por Thomas Jefferson. O documento proclamou os direitos inalienáveis de "vida, liberdade e busca da felicidade". Além de justificar a separação das colônias americanas do domínio britânico, a declaração também estabeleceu os fundamentos para um governo baseado na vontade do povo, com direitos individuais e liberdades civis garantidas.
Nesta data, celebrações percorrem o país. Os norte-americanos expressam seu orgulho e patriotismo com desfiles, fogos de artifício e eventos comunitários. Refletir sobre o valor da independência e do espírito que moldou os Estados Unidos.

The Declaration of Independence was drafted by the Founding Fathers, mainly by Thomas Jefferson. The document proclaimed the unalienable rights of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." As well as justifying the separation of the American colonies from British rule, the declaration also established the foundations for a government based on the will of the people, with individual rights and civil liberties guaranteed.
On this date, celebrations take place throughout the country. Americans express their pride and patriotism through parades, fireworks, and community events. It is a time to reflect on the value of independence and the spirit that shaped the United States.
The Independence of the United States also served as a kickstart for emancipation and struggles for freedom around the world, such as the French Revolution and the Haitian Independence.
